This is a place where I spent much time hiking, on the back side of Mt. Tamalpais. This is from an early morning hike.

I started this painting in college, and ended up finishing it very many years later. Foolishly, I was painting it from memory, and thought it was impossible to save, but fortunately I had taken photos late one night back then, and I worked from them.

This is from a trip I took back to Vermont, where I worked many years before at the Farm and Wilderness camps.

This was my first painting done after my long career detour. I had hiked through here many times, and it seemed a natural first friend to paint.

This is the first painting I finished that I could stand. At the time I was working as a waiter, having recently moved to California. These are old slides so I apologize for the low quality.
