Monet and his process

This is a fascinating article about Monet and his behind the scenes struggles. I also just finished Susan Vreeland’s The Luncheon of the Boating Party about the famous work by Renoir and what went into it, which I highly recommend.

    Jonathan,
Thanks for sharing the article. It is especially timely since we just saw the Monet Exhibit in Denver 2 days ago. I really enjoyed seeing the exhibit, and all of the paintings it contained that I had never seen before!. It was quite a coup that the DAM was able to arrange that exhibit, given that is was the only museum in the country to host it.

We make a kind of pilgrimage to Giverny whenever we go to France (which is just a car drive away for us). One can feel Monet there, for sure. Thanks for the heads up on the book!
